Nebraska football went just 3-5 during the 2020 season, but it wasn’t all bad for the Huskers and here are three things we learned.

When Scott Frost was hired to be Nebraska football‘s head coach, it seemed like only a matter of time before the Huskers started winning again and contending in the Big Ten.

Unfortunately, things haven’t exactly worked out that way. Frost hasn’t had a winning season yet with Nebraska football and the Huskers haven’t made a bowl game or even beaten Iowa.

Certainly, some fans are growing tired of being patient and there’s no doubt that the 2021 season is going to be huge for Frost and the entire program.

Either Nebraska football can take a step forward and get back into the postseason, or it might be time to relieve Frost of his duties.

That being said, I think there are a few reasons to feel good about the job Frost is doing and the program going forward. But, here’s a look at the season that was and three things we can learn from it.

Adrian Martinez needs to be the starter 100 percent

After the way he played down the stretch, Adrian Martinez proved that not only is he the team’s best quarterback, he’s also one of its true leaders.

Even when Dylan McCaffrey was playing, Martinez didn’t pout. He cheered on his teammate and when he got his opportunity, he took advantage of it.

Not only did he complete 71 percent of his passes and win two starts on the road, Martinez also led Nebraska football in rushing yards and touchdowns.

McCaffrey has some unique abilities and I hope that Frost can find a role for him, but Martinez should be the starting quarterback and should rarely come off the field.
