2021 Senior Bowl: 3 First Round Caliber Players to Watch For

The 2021 NFL Draft process is coming together as the 2021 Senior Bowl is finalizing the roster for the start of next week’s events.

This Senior Bowl will be even more important for the NFL Draft process as the 2021 NFL Scouting Combine will be without main testing. This leaves the Senior Bowl as the only collaborative event between NFL personnel and prospects outside of Pro Days.

The Senior Bowl is an annual event where NFL scouts and coaches come to the city of Mobile for a week-long event to evaluate some of the best collegiate seniors in the nation. There are three practice days for Senior Bowl, coached by the Miami Dolphins and the Carolina Panthers, that have multiple position drills and team period conditioning.

Last year, the 2020 Senior Bowl had several first-round selections and other key NFL players this NFL Season. These players including potential NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Hebert, San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

This year, there are plenty of high-caliber prospects that could find themselves selected early in the 2021 NFL Draft. There are several players this season that first-round caliber prospects competing to boost their draft stock.

Heisman Trophy-winning wide receiver DeVonta Smith will be at the Senior Bowl doing off-the-field work with the Miami Dolphins, who have the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Another first-round prospect in the Senior Bowl will be Tennessee Volunteers tackle/guard Trey Smith. There will be other players that will make a big push for the first round with a solid performance in the Senior Bowl.
