Running Back

Starter: Lyn-J Dixon

Backup: Chez Mellusi

This is the part of the roster that I am concerned about the most for Clemson heading into 2021. Lyn-J Dixon has been waiting for his turn behind Travis Etienne for four years and now he should get the opportunity to start in his last season at Clemson.

Dixon might not be the most dynamic threat with the ball in his hands, but he is a steady presence in the backfield and should start the season as the number one running back.

This could turnout to be a running back by committee situation as the season develops and other guys should be expected to get an opportunity to show what they have.

Chez Mellusi should be the favorite to split carries at the start of the season with Dixon and he is an explosive back. A name to keep an eye on is true freshman Will Shipley. Shipley was one of the top backs coming out of high school this past year and I think he could be an instant impact player for the Tigers.
