Chip Kelly’s UCLA football team had better luck in 2020 than many expected and that could lead to an impressive 2021 recruiting class.

Just over a week away from National Signing Day, UCLA currently owns the No. 27 recruiting class in the country and fourth-best in the Pac-12. Chip Kelly is keeping pace with the big boys in the conference, to a degree, but he’ll need to close out strong.

In order to do that, he needs to land a combination of his top remaining 2021 targets on or by signing day, and that might not be easy considering the competition.

The Bruins are trending in the right direction, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see them maintain some momentum with a strong finish to the 2021 class. But who are the top remaining targets on their list?

Listen, I know Keith Cooper recently committed to Tulane, but it’s not over until the pen hits the paper and he officially signs with the Green Wave.

Until then, Chip Kelly needs to keep recruiting this kid because it can’t hurt to add some defensive line depth. And Cooper is one of the more talented defensive ends in the entire 2021 class, ranked the No. 48 weak-side end by 247Sports. He’s a mid-to-high three-star prospect who has good size at 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds and could contribute early on.

Stealing Cooper away from Tulane and having him move across the country to play ball won’t be an easy task, but Kelly might just make this kid a priority.
