Mississippi State football is hoping to sew up a top-30 recruiting class in the country, but it’ll need to land a combination of these final targets.

National Signing Day is just over a week away and Mike Leach is preparing his final list of targets who he hopes to land on or by the big day.

Mississippi State currently owns the No. 33 class in the country which is only ninth-best in the SEC and he needs to land a combination of these final three targets if he’s going to finish in the top 30 in his first full offseason of recruiting with the Bulldogs.

Who are the Bulldogs’ top remaining 2021 targets?

Going after top JUCO prospects is actually incredibly beneficial for new coaches because they not only get “their guys” on the roster, but they also add players with experience and who can come in and contribute instantly. Cortez Eatmon could be one of those guys for Mike Leach.

Mississippi State’s defense isn’t what it used to be and Leach needs to get that fixed if he’s going to find any success in the SEC. Scoring points is nice, but when you can’t stop anyone, that’s a problem.

Eatmon is one of the best JUCO defensive backs in the country in the 2021 class, ranked the No. 14 overall prospect and fourth-best cornerback at that level, per the composite.

What would be especially beneficial by landing Eatmon is that he could bring his teammate — who will be named later on this list — with him.

Eatmon named Mississippi State as his leader back in December.
