12. Colorado Buffaloes – Ralphie

A real-life buffalo running onto the Folsom Field before Colorado games are one of the coolest sites to check out in all of college football. Heck, it’s one of the coolest things you’ll see in organized sports.

First of all, it’s a beautiful and massive creature that you just don’t see too often, so that’s pretty sweet. This tradition began in 1934, less than one month after the school was nicknamed the Buffaloes. Everything just fell into place at the most perfect time.

The first Ralphie came to Colorado in 1966 and the Buffs are on Ralphie V now after she took over in 2008. Ever since then, nothing beats having a real buffalo as your team mascot.
