While this might be the best player left on the board for Oregon, the chances he lands in Eugene come National Signing Day are slim.

That’s unfortunate because he’d make quite the duo at defensive end with Kayvon Thibodeaux. Imagine a better one-two defensive end duo in the country — you can’t. Those two would be darn near unstoppable and would be a nightmare for opposing offensive lines.

Unfortunately for Oregon, JT Tuimoloau is likely headed to Ohio State. Alabama is also a strong contender in his recruitment and USC and Washington are also making strong pushes. Oregon may be on the outside looking in here but the Ducks probably will watch as he signs with either Ohio State or Alabama.

Tuimoloau is ranked the No. 3 prospect and No. 2 strong-side defensive end in the country, according to the composite. But 247Sports is even higher on Tuimoloau as the recruiting service ranks him as the No. 1 player in the country.

If Oregon wins this battle somehow, it would arguably be the biggest recruiting coup of Mario Cristobal’s tenure.
