Matt Campbell is hoping to finish its 2021 recruiting class on a high note but who are the remaining Iowa State football targets?

Every year around this time, Matt Campbell always seems to find himself as the subject of another coaching search. This year, there were rumblings of the NFL as well as a potential opening in Ann Arbor with Michigan. Luckily for Iowa State fans, neither of those happened.

Iowa State will, in turn, be a contender for the Big 12 title once again in 2021 and with some key pieces coming back such as Brock Purdy and Breece Hall, there’s a good chance this team is ranked somewhere near the top 15 to start the season.

What is also important is how the Cyclones close their 2021 recruiting class which is currently ranked just 52nd in the nation.

Who are the Cyclones’ top remaining National Signing Day targets?

Eli Sanders recently committed to Iowa State, but anyone who follows recruiting knows that it’s never over until the pen hits the paper.

The Chandler, Ariz., native did choose the Cyclones over in-state programs such as Arizona and Arizona State and he held nearly a dozen offers. However, Matt Campbell was able to lure him away from the desert and to Ames where he could have an early impact as an “athlete” prospect.

Sanders looks like a solid running back with a strong 6-foot-0, 190-pound frame and he could be a nice backup option to Breece Hall.

I have him here as a top signing day priority for the Cyclones because they need to make sure they hang on to the No. 535 overall prospect in the nation and 35th-best athlete.
