Pitt football completed another winning season under Pat Narduzzi. This was the fifth winning season in six years under the head coach.

The Pitt Panthers finished 6-5 this season. It is the fourth winning season in six seasons under Pat Narduzzi.

The Panthers have an identity under Narduzzi.

Defensively, Pitt wants to play hard-nosed featuring a relentless pass-rush built to slow the modern spread offenses.

Offensively, the Panthers employ a west-coast like spread offense centered around getting the ball out quickly with a complementary running game.

The result is a lot of close games. The Panthers were blown out twice last season (Notre Dame and Clemson) their other three losses were by a combined 14 points. That was the m.o. of the Panthers, play ball-control, offense with the short passing game and play defense. For the most part, it worked.

The Pitt defense ranked 3rd in the country in run defense, second in sacks per game and 20th in the country in total defense. Where the Pitt defense was vulnerable was in the pass defense, ranking 85th in pass yards allowed. Teams that could protect their quarterback found success in the air against the Panthers.

One thing about Pitt, they played everyone tough despite being at a talent deficit at most positions on the field.

Here is their report card for the 2020 season.
