2021 NFL Mock Draft: First-round projections pre-Super Bowl week
This is a no-brainer, even with the hire of head coach Urban Meyer. Trevor Lawrence has that “it” factor, which means other than his arm talent, he has the moxie and personality of a franchise quarterback. Whether it be a primetime regular-season game or the national title game, Lawrence always showed up and always performed, showing he had the ability to perform under pressure and deliver when his team needed it the most.
I know a lot of people think the Jets could move on from Sam Darnold and select a quarterback with their No. 2 pick, however, I think they go a different route. The rest of the quarterbacks in the draft have potential but also bear some question marks. So with their first of two picks in the first round, the Jets add some fresh and talented protection along their offensive line with the selection of Penei Sewell to keep Darnold upright.
Aside from Lawrence, linebacker Micah Parsons might be the most talented player in the draft and will be a day one starter. Parsons is a freak athlete who can single-handedly shut down an opponent’s rushing attack. The Dolphins will either ride with Tua Tagovailoa or acquire Deshaun Watson this offseason and with multiple picks in the first round, going with a defensive player of this talent is a perfect match.
