Herm Edwards is hoping to close out the 2021 recruiting class strong for Arizona State football. Who are his top remaining targets?

February’s National Signing Day has been watered down a bit in recent years thanks to the early signing period when a good majority of recruits make their commitments official.

That’s why Arizona State finds itself in a position where there are only a few remaining targets left on the board — and one is already committed, he just needs to sign.

Herm Edwards has the No. 47 class in the country and seventh-best in the Pac-12 for 2021 and if he lands all three of these remaining targets (one already landed, but needs him to sign), the Sun Devils may finish with a top-40 class in the nation.

Who tops Arizona State’s list of remaining 2021 signing day targets?

I’m not exactly sure how close Arizona State has remained in contact with Earnest McDaniel, but he’s one of only two uncommitted recruits left in the 2021 class who are “high” on the Sun Devils, according to 247Sports.

McDaniel was offered by the Sun Devils last January and his teammate, a four-star cornerback, actually committed to Arizona State this summer. That could be a good sign for Arizona State, but there’s been very little news coming out of the McDaniel camp over the past few months.

But if you believe what 247Sports says, the Sun Devils are the current favorite to land him as he only has two other offers from Nevada and FAU.

McDaniel could be a diamond in the rough, ranked No. 2,014 in the nation and he’s the No. 268 overall wide receiver, according to the composite. He hasn’t gotten a ton of attention, but Herm Edwards took a chance by offering him and he might just land the under-recruited recruit.
