With immense potential on offense and a talented defense, Georgia Football might finally be ready to win its first national championship in over 40 years

The main criticism that Georgia football fans have levied against head coach Kirby Smart is that he has not evolved enough on the offensive side of the ball and that Georgia Football did not have a dynamic enough quarterback to be able to win the playoff.

In 2021, the Dawgs might have both of those things and that might mean that they are ready to make a return to the national championship game and this time, Kirby Smart will be looking to finish the deal.

The offense is the reason for excitement in Athens for next season. JT Daniels was everything that Georgia has needed at quarterback and his finish to last season has made football fans think that Georgia has found its quarterback.

The running back room is full of both talent and experience with Zamir White, James Cook and Kenny McIntosh returning. While those three are exceptional, Sophomore Kendall Milton might be the best of the bunch, it will just be hard to find carries in such a star studded backfield.

The receiving corps is fast and experienced. George Pickens is ready to be an All-American and the guys surrounding him should be nice compliments. A breakout star on offense will be tight end Darnell Washington, who is a mismatch nightmare at 6’7 260 LBS. The offensive line will need to replace some starters, but getting Jamaree Salyer back was a big boost.

Georgia finished with the number one ranked defense according to ESPN’s Bill Connelly’s SP+ rankings in 2020. The biggest obstacle to having another top ranked defense will be replacing a lot of production in the secondary.

Tyson Campbell, Eric Stokes and Richard LeCounte III all are gone to the NFL and Tyrique Stevenson transferring to Miami. The secondary has talent like former five star recruit Kelee Ringo, but lacks experience. The front seven will be stingy once again with the return of defensive tackle Jordan Davis.

This could be the year that Georgia puts it all together. The Bulldogs have the talent and look to have found the quarterback and offense to be able make a run at the SEC championship.

Here are my way too early predictions for Georgia’s 2021 season.
