National Signing Day is here and while it’s not what it used to be, there are still elite recruits left on the board and here’s where the top 10 will go.

National signing day isn’t what it used to be. There was a time when everybody signed on the same day but now there are two signing periods, an early one and a late one.

The early signing period has become prevalent as more and more recruits are deciding earlier and enrolling early with their programs which can’t happen if you wait until February to sign.

So while some of the lust is off of National Signing Day because many of the top-ranked recruits are already signed, there are some still key recruits available, although there are just nine players remaining unsigned ranked in the top 150 of the 247 sports composite rankings.

There are some big names out there such as No. 3 overall prospect J.T. Tuimoloau, who actually isn’t expected to make a decision on National Signing Day, as well as a number of other four-star prospects waiting to choose a destination.

There will be announcements throughout the day and you can get a rundown here from CBS Sports, but let’s get started with our predictions for the top 10 recruits still available in the class of 2021:

10. Davon Townley, 4-star defensive end (No. 321) — Penn State

Townley is a recruit that multiple Big Ten programs are fighting over in Penn State and Nebraska. He’s 6-foot-6, 220 pounds and out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, which means neither team is really going to have an edge with the distance.

Washington actually jumped into the mix with an offer just last week, so don’t count out the Huskies, but Penn State seems to have the most momentum and I see the Nittany Lions winning out.

9. Trevin Wallace, 4-star ILB (No. 140) — Kentucky

Kentucky has really ramped up its recruiting efforts in the past few years and landing Wallace would be another sign of that as the inside linebacker from Jesup, Georgia is ranked 140th overall and ranks ninth at the position nationally.

Auburn was viewed as the favorite here at one time, but Kentucky has been trending hard with crystal balls in recent days and it appears that Wallace will wind up in Wildcat Blue.
