Winners: Michigan, Oregon, Florida State, Texas A&M and Alabama

Lots of programs added solid players to their recruiting classes but each of these are listed for a reason. Michigan is obvious. The Wolverines scored the biggest flip of the day and also addressed a critical need with its signing day victory.

Add in the fact that Michigan’s win came at the expense of Michigan State only makes it even better for the Wolverines.

Texas A&M was another winner by holding off Texas for top-50 running back LJ Johnson. The Longhorns made a strong run at the elite running back, but the Aggies held onto the commitment and even though the rest of the day didn’t go their way, landing Johnson was most important. They also still have a shot at Brian Thomas Jr., which is another positive.

Oregon was a winner on national signing day for two reasons: The first was landing four-star cornerback Avante Dickerson. The second was not having J.T. Tuimoloau commit to Ohio State. That gives the Ducks a shot to land the top uncommitted recruit left on the board.

As for the other winners — Florida State makes the list for four-star wide receiver Destyn Hill. Hill was a huge recruiting win for the Seminoles who moved into the top 25 with his signature and fourth in the ACC. He’s also the Noles top recruit in the 247 composite rankings by a wide margin.

Lastly, Alabama locked the No. 1 class and arguably the best recruiting class of all time by locking of another top-50 recruit in safety Terrion Arnold. The Tide were winners already, but keeping him away from Georgia was the cherry on top.
