EA Sports College Football has a history of different covers for different systems.

When NCAA Football 09 was released in July of 2008, it was released on every gaming system available, including the Nintendo Wii, for the only time.

To commemorate this, EA Sports released different covers for every gaming system. Former California receiver DeSean Jackson was on the PlayStation 2 cover, former Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan graced the PlayStation 3 cover, West Virginia fullback Owen Schmitt was featured on the PSP cover, Michigan State mascot Sparty was on the Wii cover, and former Arkansas running back  Darren McFadden was on the Xbox 360 cover.

Keeping with that idea, this edition could honor the great coaches through the eras. PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch would likely have versions of the game.

One system could honor pioneers of the game like Curly Lambeau, Field Yost, and Knute Rockne; another could feature Bill DeVaney, Darrell Royal, and Bud Wilkinson. To honor the great coaches of the 60s and70s, John McKay, Bear Bryant, Woody Hayes, and Bo Schembechler could be on another.

If you are going to put great coaches on the over, Eddie Robinson, Bobby Bowden, Stever Spurrier, Tom Osborne, and Jimmy Johnson have to be on covers as well. Then the modern era, Urban Meyer, Dabo Swinney, and Nick Saban would grace the cover.
