If EA went with an individual player, DeVonta Smith has to be the guy.

Often, the most exciting player from the previous season went on the cover of the game. Jared Zabransky was featured on the cover of the 2008 edition of the game because of their upset win against Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl, where Zabransky was named MVP.

Other times, the Heisman winner was featured. The first year a player was featured on the cover of the game, 1997, Florida quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel graced the cover.

With DeVonta Smith on the cover of the game gives you the best of both worlds. Not only was Smith the first wide receiver to win the Heisman Trophy since Desmond Howard at Michigan, but there were also few players more exciting than number six in crimson and cream.

There have been few players in college football that look like a live-action video game like Smith. The Louisiana native has a great story and a wonderful game. The only bad thing about Smith being on the cover is that he would be a player on the game since he’s leaving for the NFL.
