Nebraska Football: 3 Final thoughts on Huskers 2021 recruiting class
National signing day didn’t go as Nebraska football hoped but the 2021 recruiting class was still solid as a whole and here are some final thoughts.
When it comes to recruiting or really anything in college football, it’s hard not to become a prisoner of the moment and for Nebraska football fans, it would be easy to get caught up in the failures on national signing day.
Nebraska football missed out on two legitimate targets and there’s no pretending that the Huskers 2021 recruiting class wouldn’t have been better with Avante Dickerson and Davon Townley, who signed with Oregon and Penn State respectively.
Dickerson especially hurts because he’s from Omaha and you never want to lose an in-state recruit, particularly one that’s a high priority like Dickerson, a top-200 recruit.
But the Huskers still landed five of the top seven recruits in the state, so it’s hard to say that Scott Frost and company aren’t keeping the best players in Nebraska.
As it stands, Nebraska has the 20th-ranked class in the country according to the 247 sports team rankings in 2021 and 5th in the Big Ten conference,
The Huskers have added 20 signees and a number of walk-ons. Whether it’s the offensive line, the wide receivers or the additions at linebacker, Nebraska football has added some really solid pieces.
But there is the lack of an offensive skill guys with just one in the top 500. Still, there is some elite talent in this class, despite the question marks and that’s where we begin the final look at the Huskers’ 2021 recruiting haul.
