A BIG class

It’s been clear that Nebraska football needs to get bigger and tougher and in the 2021 recruiting class, the Huskers definitely took some steps in the right direction.

If you look at their list of 20 signees, you will notice that not one of them is under 6-foot. All five of the guys signed on the offensive and defensive lines are at least 6-foot-6.

That’s the kind of size you need in the Big Ten and even though the Huskers didn’t sign enough guys in the trenches, especially at defensive tackle, you have to admire the focus on upgrading the size everywhere.

The Huskers also brought in two wideouts who are 6-foot-3 in Latrell Neville and 6-foot-4 in Shawn Hardy. Kamonte Grimes is another dynamic receiver, who is athletic enough to play defense too, but he’s 6-foot-2 and should excel as a slot or outside receiver.

Mikai Gbayor is another linebacker coming in at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds and even though this class isn’t perfect, this looks more like a Big Ten recruiting class than previous years.
