Final grade: B

It might be easy to get caught up in the disappointments of national signing day, but the Huskers had a really solid class before that and they did add Ho’ohuli, a top-200 linebacker after early signing day and he’s the No. 2 player in this class according to the 247 composite rankings.

Gabe Ervin is a solid running back prospect who did hold an offer from Michigan, but I would like to see some more four-star talent on the offensive side of the ball.

The additions of Markese Stepp, a running back from USC with actual college production and also Samori Toure, a dominant receiver at Montana in the FCS, should help fill the need for additional playmakers next season, but that needs to be a focus going forward.

The Huskers also need to do a better job recruiting the quarterback position, adding three-star Heinrich Haarberg in this class and there is a big need to hit on the position in 2022.

All in all, Nebraska football did well with this class. The Huskers recruited well in the state, added size that was needed and executed a solid strategy. It’s a promising step moving forward and hopefully one Frost can build on with his first winning season in 2021.
