5. Postseason options

The postseason in NCAA Football 14‘s dynasty mode was of the BCS format – or the Bowl Championship Series. It included tie-ins for conference members of the Power-5, plus the American, and two at-large bids. This was fun and all, but the College Football Playoff was implemented prior to the 2014-15 season, one season following the release of NCAA Football 14.

There were customization options, though. EA Sports made it possible to change conferences during the offseason of dynasty mode, along with being able to change or create new tie-ins for each (BCS) bowl game. With all that already at our fingertips, why shouldn’t there be an option to pick between a BCS or CFP postseason altogether?

Some dynasty modes, with the option of simulating, are played through multiple decades. This can make the mode stale without change, especially with an established program and recruiting advantages. With an option to shake up postseason play, a fresh layer of goals would be introduced.

Coaching at a Houston, Marshall, or UCF? Which postseason format would provide the best chance at a national championship? Is the CFP easier for the Alabama’s and Clemson’s of the nation? Or does the BCS provide a Boise State or Cincinnati with a title opportunity?

These questions could be all asked and answered over multiple seasons in dynasty mode – a place where anything is possible.
