Scouting Report. Freshman. Wyatt Milum. player. 877. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. 2

Another important newcomer for the Mountaineers was plucked from Spring Valley High School in Huntington, W. Va., offensive tackle Wyatt Milum. The four-star recruit held offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon and a handful of other top-tier programs before committing to the Mountaineers. Make no mistake, this addition is a big get for Neal Brown and West Virginia.

Milum, who’s listed at 6-foot-6 and 273 pounds, has the desired body type for the tackle position at not just the college level but beyond. In addition to being tall, he’s got decent length, per Barton Simmons, former Director of Scouting at 247sports.

There’ll be opportunities for Milum to play as a freshman, especially with the departures of Chase Behrndt, Michael Brown, Briason Mays and Junior Uzebu. Not all four were starters in 2020, but each had high expectations — something Milum will understand soon enough.

After hauling in two game-changing West Virginians this recruiting cycle, Neal Brown is establishing dominance in his own backyard. Additions like Milum and Nester don’t just help in the present, though; their importance will be felt in recruiting classes for years to come under Brown.
