LSU Football: Way too early predictions for 2021 schedule
One of the best games of 2020 will be one of the most anticipated games of 2021. LSU was a huge underdog in the swamp last season and thanks to a now infamous shoe throw and an excellent kicker, LSU pulled off the huge upset and beat the Gators in Gainesville last season. This year, the teams will be pretty similar and looking to make a statement in the always tough SEC.
This will be the best offense that LSU will have played up to this point. Florida head coach Dan Mullen will be able to maximize whatever talent is at his disposal on offense and while they may not be as good as they were last year on that side of the ball, they will still be good enough to beat most teams that they face. Emory Jones will take over at quarterback and hope to lead the Gators back to the SEC Championship game. I expect this to be fairly high scoring game that LSU will win because of the home field advantage.
Final Score: LSU 41, Florida 35 (7-0, 4-0 SEC)
LSU got a big win over the Rebels to finish off their disappointing 2020 season and they are hoping the momentum they built off of that game will carry over into 2021. This should be another very entertaining game between two offenses that should be able to put up points on any team in the country. The Rebels are returning quarterback Matt Corral and because he is paired with head coach Lane Kiffin, Corral should be a Heisman darkhorse next year.
This game will come down to who has the ball last on offense. I don’t anticipate either defense really being able to show much resistance in this game. I think the game being in Oxford should give a huge boost to the Rebels and they will be looking to lay claim to being the second best team in the SEC West behind Alabama. I think Corral has a huge game and the Tigers suffer their first defeat of 2021.
Final Score: LSU 35, Ole Miss 42 (7-1, 4-1 SEC)
