3-star Thomas Cole

There are higher-rated recruits that UCLA football signed in the 2021 class than three-star offensive tackle Thomas Cole, but there’s a good chance the 6-foot-7 lineman will see the field early for the Bruins and it has to do with the same reason as Somerville.

For one, Cole plays a position of need at offensive tackle, and even though he was recruited as a tackle, he could step in and play at guard right away if the Bruins weren’t quite ready to start him on the edge.

Like Somerville, the main contender in his recruitment was Michigan but the Bruins were able to win the commitment of Cole who is ranked 404th overall in the 2021 class, 33rd among tackles and 35th in the state of California.

This class isn’t the highest-rated but is fourth in the Pac-12 conference if you add Charbonnet, a legit top-50 skill player, the Bruins could take a nice step forward in 2021, especially if these guys are able to make an immediate impact as expected.
