Florida will open the season with an in-state game against the Florida Atlantic Owls and their second-year head coach Willie Taggart. This will not the first time that Dan Mullen and Taggart have faced off, as they played each other when Taggart was the head coach of Florida State. Florida Atlantic is a solid program that should not be taken lightly when they are on the schedule. This should not be a tough game for the Gators however and I think this will be a solid game for Florida to get their new starters going and a good first game for Emory Jones. Gators roll in their opener.

Final Score: Florida 42, FAU 17 (1-0)

One of the stranger road games of the year will take place in week two of the season when Florida will make the rare visit to a group of five school. Florida will travel to Tampa to play South Florida, who had a rough first season in 2020 under first-year head coach Jeff Scott. This will be another instate game that should not be much of a problem for Florida and will serve as another warm-up game before the Alabama Crimson Tide take a visit to Gainesville. Expect another blowout and Gators win in week two

Final Score: Florida 45, South Florida 10 (2-0)
