Pick Analysis. 10. player. 123. Scouting Report. OT. Northwestern. Rashawn Slater

This isn’t the ‘sexy’ pick that Cowboys fans probably want here at No. 10, but the needs of this team aren’t exactly the most exciting.

Dallas actually needs a cornerback or safety here, but with Patrick Surtain II and Caleb Farley being selected in the two picks leading up to the Cowboys’, they’ll have to look at a different priority: offensive line.

Rashawn Slater is one of the quickest risers up draft boards recently and it’s because there aren’t a ton of ‘elite’ offensive linemen in this class but he may be the most polished and NFL ready on the interior.

The 6-foot-4, 315-pound tackle from Northwestern opted out of the 2020 season in order to prepare for the NFL Draft and teams may realize that he fits best on the interior but can be stretched to the tackle spots, if need be.

Well, the Cowboys need linemen and it makes sense to protect Dak Prescott who’s coming off a season-ending injury.

This is a safe pick, but a good one. Don’t boo, Cowboys fans.
