Pick Analysis. OT. Virginia Tech. Christian Darrisaw. player. Scouting Report. 12. 42

After a massively disappointing season, it’s hard to say the 49ers don’t have a ton of needs, but they do. San Francisco had shortcomings in the defensive backfield, on the offensive line and at quarterback this past season and those are the three major positions of need.

Given the fact that there are no “elite” quarterbacks left at this point and that the top two corners in the draft are off the board at this point, I see the 49ers going offensive line here with Virginia Tech’s Christian Darrisaw.

The talented offensive tackle has good size at 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds and he started for three seasons with the Hokies, only getting better each year. He should still continue to grow and develop at the next level and he could be San Francisco’s left tackle of the future.

I could still see the 49ers taking a chance on Trey Lance if he’s available here, but the safest bet would be to go with Darrisaw and I think that’s what they ultimately decide.
