2021 NFL Mock Draft: First-round projections after Super Bowl LV
Despite having three players capable of reaching this mark, the Chargers had zero 1,000-yard receivers in 2020.
Yes, you read that correctly, Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and tight end Hunter Henry all fell short of that mark despite having the talent and a breakout quarterback in Justin Herbert leading the way.
One of those guys could be looking for a new home this offseason and there could be a perfect replacement for him in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft at No. 13 overall. This would be the perfect spot to take Kyle Pitts of Florida, assuming he’s still on the board here.
Henry is a free agent this offseason and the Chargers may not re-sign him because of the fact that Pitts is in this draft. He could be a superstar at the next level and had quite the career at Florida as a touchdown machine.
The elite 6-foot-6, 246-pound tight end broke out as a sophomore with 54 catches for 649 yards and five touchdowns and in five less games in 2020, he had 770 yards and 12 touchdowns on an impressive 17.9 yards per reception.
Los Angeles could be looking for a new tight end this offseason and Herbert has to be lobbying for Pitts here. This connection could be a game-changer.
