2021 NFL Mock Draft: First-round projections after Super Bowl LV
Just behind Gregory Rousseau on my list of top edge rushers in the 2021 draft class is Michigan’s Kwity Paye and wouldn’t you know it, just two picks after the Miami star goes, the Arizona Cardinals will also be looking to add an edge rusher.
Paye doesn’t quite have the size of Rousseau, standing three inches shorter, but he does possess a solid frame at 272 pounds. He’s an impressive athlete and he has a high ceiling and I feel he never truly scratched the surface in Ann Arbor.
You might look at his career stats and question why I believe he never truly scratched the surface, but I believe his potential is crazy. He did have 23.5 career tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks, but he was relatively quiet outside of his breakout junior year.
In the right system, Paye could flourish and a team can tap into that potential and get a future All-Pro.
Paye is still a little raw but he has everything you’d want in an end and Kliff Kingsbury would be lucky to build a defensive line around him.
