OT. Alabama. 52. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Alex Leatherwood. 25. player

After taking Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick, the Jaguars will be looking to protect that franchise quarterback and why not add the Outland Trophy winner?

Alex Leatherwood had a chance to be a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft but chose to come back to Alabama for his senior year and there’s no chance he regrets that decision because he only boosted his stock and won a national title.

Leatherwood became Alabama’s fifth Outland Trophy winner, was a unanimous first-team All-American and it’s hard to argue against him being the best offensive lineman in the country.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if he went even earlier than No. 25, but Leatherwood may transition to the interior at the next level. Some believe he’s best suited to be a starting NFL guard, but the Jaguars should test him out at tackle because there’s a chance he’ll ease into it.

Could Leatherwood soon be protecting Lawrence’s blind side? We’ll find out soon but Urban Meyer would have to love this pick.
