2021 NFL Mock Draft: First-round projections after Super Bowl LV
I originally had Alijah Vera-Tucker going to the Jaguars at No. 25, but Jacksonville might be looking more for an offensive tackle while the Packers could use help all along the offensive line.
Vera-Tucker is believed to be the best interior offensive lineman in the 2021 NFL Draft class and the Packers have to jump at this opportunity at No. 29 overall.
Aaron Rodgers needs some help in the trenches. For an elite quarterback, he seems to constantly be running for his life and taking unnecessary hits and if Green Bay’s offensive line gets bolstered with this draft and the addition of Vera-Tucker here, the Packers could be looking like one of a few Super Bowl favorites yet again.
Green Bay also needs help at tackle and at receiver — arguably the two biggest priorities — but bolstering the interior would be a good move.
Vera-Tucker is a very good athlete and he played the entire 2020 season for USC at left tackle, so I guess he’s not strictly tied to guard at the next level.
