OT. Jalen Mayfield. player. 31. 124. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Michigan

Anyone who watched the Super Bowl saw Patrick Mahomes running for his life. He actually ran more than any quarterback in Super Bowl history before getting sacked or throwing the ball — over 400 yards. That’s wild.

If the Chiefs want to get back to the Super Bowl again next year, they’re going to have to address that offensive line. As we all saw, the offense doesn’t really do much of anything when Mahomes doesn’t get time to throw. It’s time to protect their franchise quarterback.

Jalen Mayfield is the best available offensive lineman at this point in the draft and if they can’t get one of the top edge rushers or a top receiver at this point, I think the Chiefs have to go offensive line with the Michigan star.

Mayfield was an All-Big Ten tackle and started 15 games during his three-year career at right tackle. He was impressive in just a short period of time — he only played in 18 career games because he appeared in just two in 2020.

This 6-foot-5, 320-pound tackle would be the perfect addition to that porous Chiefs front.
