Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oregon. Penei Sewell. 56. OT. 5. player

There haven’t been many offensive linemen as good and as polished as Penei Sewell over the past few years. The junior offensive tackle from Oregon won the Outland Trophy in 2019 as a sophomore and decided to opt out of the 2020 season in September when the Pac-12 announced a postponed year.

Although he didn’t end up playing this year, he still left his mark at Oregon with quite the resume as a unanimous first-team All-American and Outland Trophy winner in just his second collegiate season. If he did all of this as a 20-year-old, just imagine how high his ceiling is.

The Bengals will be looking for help on the defensive line with an edge rusher as well as at cornerback, but the No. 1 need has to be offensive line help. Sewell is a perfect fit.

Cincinnati has its quarterback of the future in Joe Burrow and he’ll need some protection, especially after his season-ending injury in 2020 and Sewell would be the insurance he needs up front.
