Pick Analysis. LB. Penn State. 6. Scouting Report. Micah Parsons. player. 54

Opting out of the 2020 season wasn’t a huge surprise for Micah Parsons as he was already considered the best linebacker prospect in the nation and he wanted to focus all of his efforts on preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Parsons’ stock didn’t take a hit with him opting out and a team looking for a linebacker like the home-state Eagles would be a decent fit.

Philadelphia may also be looking for a linebacker or cornerback here, but I think it may be slightly early to reach for a guy like Patrick Surtain II from Alabama and they might just value Parsons over guys like Ja’Marr Chase or Jaylen Waddle because the Eagles just selected Jalen Reagor in the first round a year ago.

I don’t see Philadelphia selecting a receiver in the first round in two straight drafts, especially with DeVonta Smith off the board, but Parsons just makes sense.

Philadelphia’s defense will be getting a little nastier with this pick as Parsons was an All-Big Ten talent who had 191 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks through two years.
