Scouting Report. Nebraksa Cornhuskers. player. Pick Analysis. Sept 18. Norman (OK). 3. 810

This will be one of the most looked at games in the non-conference schedule, but it has almost nothing to do with the game on the field. This is a meeting between old Big 12 rivals that have not faced each other since the Cornhuskers departure from the Big 12 to the Big Ten. Oklahoma has remained on top of the college football landscape while Nebraska has been struggling to fight back to relevancy.

While this game will be looked towards, I doubt that it is very competitive at all. Nebraska does not seem to have an answer at quarterback and I don’t know that I can trust their defense to hang with an offense like the Sooners just yet. Oklahoma makes a statement by blowing out their old rival.

Final Score: Oklahoma 45, Nebraska 21 (3-0)

Sept 25. Norman (OK). 4. player. 877. Scouting Report. West Virginia Mountaineers. Pick Analysis

Oklahoma will close out their September schedule with their Big 12 opener against West Virginia, a team that is hoping to break through and compete for a spot in the Big 12 championship in coach Neal Brown’s third season. West Virginia is ranked 34th in Bill Connelly’s SP+ rankings and is projected to have the 11th ranked defense in the country as well. That could be a formula for success in the Big 12 if the offense is just average.

Oklahoma will want to take this game very seriously because I think that West Virginia could surprise some teams this fall. However, I can’t trust their offense and quarterback play enough to go into Norman and pull out a victory.

Final Score: Oklahoma 38, West Virginia 17 (4-0, 1-0 Big 12)
