47. Best SEC football players of all time: A.J. McCarron, Alabama football

The Alabama Crimson Tide are going to be well-represented in our list of the top-50 players in SEC football history, and rightfully so. One of the best programs in college football, Alabama has produced a ton of NFL talent, while also racking up numerous national titles.

Our No. 47-ranked player led the Crimson Tide to two of those national titles, becoming the first quarterback to win back-to-back BCS Championship. A.J. McCarron left Alabama with numerous school records, including becoming the all-time leader in passing yards, as well as passing yards in a season.

A product of Mobile, Alabama, McCarron had a monstrous 2013 campaign, winning his second of two straight national titles. The signal-caller won the Maxwell Award, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm honor, as well as the Kellen Moore Award, capping an unbelievable career for the Crimson Tide.

A fifth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2014, McCarron is most known for his exploits at Alabama, throwing for 77 touchdowns against only 15 interceptions, as one of the more successful quarterbacks in school history.
