SEC Football history: 50 best players of all time

46. Best SEC football players of all time: Glenn Dorsey, LSU football
Known for his feisty nature, and a fierce competitive streak, Glenn Dorsey was an absolute star during his time with the LSU Tigers. One of the best players coming out of high school, Dorsey played for the school from 2004 through the 2007 season, becoming one of the more feared defensive linemen in the country.
A two-time All-American and First-Team All-SEC player, Dorsey was a homegrown hero for the LSU program, and by the time all was said and done, he had one of the more decorated careers of any defensive tackle in program history. His 2007 was one of the best on record, as he led the Tigers to a national title while taking home the Lombardi Award, the Outland Trophy, and the Bronco Nagurski Trophy.
In fact, not only did Dorsey take home all three honors, but he was also named the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Year. He is the only player in SEC history to win all four of those awards and was known to play hurt, while still being able to dominate the competition.
A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, he was the fifth overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, playing nine seasons in the NFL.
