Big 12 Football best players of all-time: 40. Orlando Brown Jr., OT, Oklahoma football

For a while, the name Orlando Brown Jr. was one that elicited a weird response. Everyone knew he was good at Oklahoma but he then went to the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine and had a terrible performance.

He ended up falling to the third round because of it and even he joked about it afterward, saying he would be used in the Rich Eisen 40-yard dash.

"“I’ll probably be a running joke.” Brown said via the Baltimore Ravens official website. “That camera they do with Rich Eisen and the 40-yard dash – I’ll probably be on that thing.”"

He later said that the idea of scouting solely on workouts should be of more importance and hoped the NFL would start to lean on game film more.

"“Hopefully the NFL eventually starts moving more so toward watching the film and evaluating how the guy played in college – not what he’s going to run or how high he can jump.”"

Now, Brown Jr. is one of the better offensive tackles in the NFL and the Ravens are the ones laughing about where they landed him in the mock. And if we are being honest, Brown Jr. is correct that he should have been judged on his tape.

The film at Oklahoma was phenomenal. He was a former unanimous All-American and two-time Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. He even had some teammates coming to his defense after his workout including quarterback Baker Mayfield who was singing his praises — and for good reason.
