Another one of these players who were elite in college but didn’t make it too far in the NFL is Rashaun Woods. An Oklahoma State wide receiver, Woods was taken in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft but after sparingly playing as a rookie, he tore a ligament in his thumb which led to a trade and he never played in the league again.

Woods did have a short stint in the NFL Europe and the CFL, but it was his days with Oklahoma State where he will be most remembered for. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 202-pounds, Woods was a big-bodied receiver who pulled in just about every pass that came near him.

As a sophomore, he had 80 receptions for 1,023 yards with 10 touchdowns and only improved from there. He posted double-digit touchdowns in each of the following seasons and had 1,695 yards in 2002 and 1,367 in 2003.

For his career, Woods racked up 293 receptions for 4,414 yards with 42 touchdowns. He was simply unstoppable and found himself being named to the All-Big 12 First-Team twice (2002 and 2003) and Second-Team once (2001). He was also a two-time All-American during his collegiate career.

Woods later turned to coaching in high school and was named the head man of Enid High School in Oklahoma in 2019.
