Remember when I said Clemson has been known for developing elite defensive standouts under Brent Venables? Yeah, a lot of that has been aided by an elite defensive line.

The Tigers just landed the No. 1 defensive end a year ago and could pick up a commitment from the No. 2 defensive tackle in this class. Imagine a future line with Bryan Bresee at the end and Travis Shaw lined up next to him. That’s just not fair for opposing defenses, but it’s a real possibility with Shaw looking like a current Clemson lean.

The North Carolina-native is ranked the No. 2 defensive tackle and No. 8 overall prospect in the 2022 class, according to the composite. He holds over two dozen offers from some of the top programs in the nation but Clemson is standing out early on.

Shaw has to be looking at the future of the Clemson defensive line while also realizing the Tigers develop elite linemen yearly and pretty much salivating at the opportunity.

Plus, who wouldn’t want to play for national titles every year?
