Utah Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2021
By Austin Lloyd
With a 12-game schedule headlined by a brutal conference stretch, Utah football will have its hands full for the 2021 season.
For the approaching college football slate, Utah should expect to get back to the same old grind that they have been on for several years now. Most namely, the Utes still have head coach Kyle Whittingham and play in the Pac-12, which is still one of the weaker Power Five conferences, if not the weakest.
Unfortunately, Utah has not appeared to have struck much gold throughout the process of their schedule being conjured, ranging from some of their conference road games to their Pac-12 North foes.
Scheduling has not been the only roadblock for the Utes getting over the hump, however. They have also shown bursts of inconsistency throughout their seasons of recent memory. But especially with the better recruiting (by their standards) as of late, they can cover up a world of hurt if they start playing like they are capable of every single week.
This does not mean that Utah will be some sort of title contender, but perhaps a conference championship win and New Year’s Six bowl bid will be impactful enough steps in the right direction for the program.
With that in mind, exposing the biggest obstacles that could keep the Utes from such a goal is probably a good idea.
Here’s a look at Utah’s game-by-game predictions for 2021.
