1. South Dakota (W)

Hopefully, giving Kansas a win in this one isn’t biting off more than you can chew. Kansas should come out victorious, but there should also be no surprise if the final tally leaves the implication that the Jayhawks were playing, instead of a normal Power Five team.

Record: 1-0

2. Coastal Carolina (L)

The Chanticleers handled Kansas last year. This time around, KU is on the road and there is currently no clue as to who their head coach will be. If Coastal Carolina remembers how to play football, then there is no reason that they cannot best the Hawks again.

Record: 1-1

3. Baylor (L)

In-conference play will start for Kansas as anyone could have thought it would. Baylor noticeably worsened after the departure of their previous head coach Matt Rhule to the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League, but they were not Kansas bad. The Bears win easy in Lawrence.

Record: 1-2 (0-1 Big 12)

4. Duke (L)

The Blue Devils are in no way an esteemed ACC power, and are actually so terrible that this game could be quite close. But Duke is at home, and KU will be bruised up after Baylor, so Duke takes a competitive one here. Not a great look for the Jayhawks after their first third of the regular season stretch.

Record: 1-3
