Carolina Panthers

One team that would probably love to come away with Mac Jones is the Carolina Panthers. Not only did Mel Kiper Jr. send Jones to the Panthers in his latest mock draft, but here’s what head coach Matt Rhule said recently about Jones via the Charlotte Observer:

"“He processes information quickly, highly intelligent, he’s an alpha. He’s the first guy on the practice field, he’s the first guy in the runnings, so he’s got a lot of really, really, really strong traits.”"

Teddy Bridgewater is the veteran quarterback on the roster right now, yet he’s nothing to get excited about. Bridgewater can win games and his presence will be helpful, but if Jones is there at No. 8 that will be difficult for Carolina to pass up in the NFL Draft.

He’s more proven than Trey Lance and while the Panthers might want to trade down and get him, with New England and others looking for a quarterback, they might need to pull the trigger.
