9. Baylor (W)

We established earlier that the Horned Frogs were a solid team last season. Baylor, on the other hand, was anything but.

The Bears went 2-7, which included a 10-point loss to TCU in Waco. This time around, Baylor is on the road versus their huge rival. The affair can be interesting for at least a little while, but Texas Christian falling short here just seems a tiny bit ridiculous.

Record: 8-1, 5-1

10. Oklahoma State (L)

In a matchup that is sure to be back-and-forth for a good deal of the game clock, Oklahoma State will eventually put TCU to rest in Stillwater.

The Cowboys are known for raining on the parades of their adversaries (just ask Bevo), and they will do exactly that against the Frogs. Being on the road to duke it out with a team that is also as strong as an ox just doesn’t sound too good for TCU, who will certainly be dealing with the pressures of not letting their fans down so deep into the season.

Record: 8-2, 5-2

11. Kansas (W)

Ah, the punching bag game. Most teams are equipped with at least one within their regular season slate, and TCU was given theirs right between two of their harshest meetings of the year. And the Frogs are at home. What a fun day November 20th will be, unless you’re a Jayhawk.

Record: 9-2, 6-2

12. Iowa State (L)

A 9-2 Horned Frogs squad, losing to a superior Iowa State? Boy have times changed. The event will unfold in Ames, which will make the final tally even more distant. But it’s not because TCU just can’t possibly compete with ISU. Rather it is because the latter has been firing on all cylinders as of late, and that dynamic mid-game chemistry will pay off with a statement win for the Cyclones in rivalry week.

Record: 9-3, 6-3

The Horned Frogs will conclude their 2021 regular season schedule with a brag-worthy 9-3 record. They will find themselves in a meaningful bowl game, but not one of paramount priority, and truly finish their year moving above and beyond their average ways that the college football world witnessed during the previous few seasons.
