Games 5-8

Wake Forest: Win

Not many games can achieve being as entertaining as this one while still going on to remain so forgettable.

The Demon Deacons got spanked by Louisville last season. But Wake will still have their exciting offense in 2021, and they will be hosting the Cardinals this time around.

The only problem for the Deacs comes is when someone tries to imagine them topping the Cards after the abuse that they endured just one year prior. And that is the problem that I am having at this very moment. Wake will play tough, but will fall to Louisville for a third consecutive year.

Virginia: Loss

A trap game had to be on this schedule somewhere, and it must be the one against Virginia. The Cavaliers looked rather promising in the second half of their previous season, and the Cardinals will face UVA right after the former had survived two physical conference battles. Virginia upsets Louisville to hand them the first loss of their 2021 slate.

Boston College: Win

If this were 1940, perhaps I would hear the Eagles out. But this Boston College team is over 80 years too late and is visiting a bloodthirsty Cardinals squad that is coming off of a bye week. Look out, BC.

North Carolina State: Loss

A program that came out of nowhere in 2020, the NC State Wolfpack are no joke in the college football world right now.

Louisville will be on the road to face a team that they have lost two of their last three meetings against, and that merely looks better than them as of late. The Cardinals lose their first divisional game of the year.
