Syracuse Football: Game-by-game predictions for Orange in 2021
By Austin Lloyd
Games 9-12
Boston College: Loss
This affair could be more of a contest for Syracuse, as they host BC (who has also been better than they are right now), and lost a low-scoring match to them last year by only a field goal. But the Eagles still managed to grasp a positive 6-5 record in 2020, which is much more than one can say for the Orange. BC should take this game by 17-20 points if the Eagles play accordingly.
Louisville: Loss
Syracuse football will be strolling into Louisville, Kentucky well-rested and fresh off of a bye week. They’ll get on that gridiron and lock horns with the Cardinals for four physical quarters, all just to lose by around five touchdowns.
North Carolina State: Loss
The Wolfpack finished 8-3 last season, and will be hosting the Orange, a team that they have won their last two meetings against. 2021 will be no different as NC State takes this one by over 20. A pretty forgettable game between these two.
Pittsburgh: Loss
The Pitt Panthers have had their fair share of struggles in recent memory but, as I said about Rutgers, they are not as bad as Syracuse. Between 2013 and now, Pittsburgh has faced off against the Orange every single season, and the latter has walked away victorious only once.
The Panthers will be traveling, which will make it a tad more competitive, but Pitt will ultimately win by a noticeable margin anyway.
The Syracuse Orange will conclude 2021 with another 1-win season, and the win will be over Albany. There will be absolutely nothing to look forward to for Syracuse as a result. Not even Nostradamus could tell you when this team will be relevant again. But by the looks of things, it won’t be anytime soon.
