#6: South Carolina Gamecocks

I had much difficulty in the process of selecting a photograph for depicting South Carolina’s typical home game appearance.

Because of this, I resorted to looking up their home uniforms on Google Images, just to see what they would show more of. And they showed more black ones than garnet ones. So I just settled for an image of them in black for this countdown.

The Gamecocks have an overall outstanding look, regardless of what color they decide to wear. And it really is hard to mess up a color scheme composed of black and red.

South Carolina loses points when matched up against the styles of the teams above them, though, due to less recognizability and their troubling logo. It’s nice, but there is just something about the flared-up chicken in front of an oddly shaped “C” that has a wrongness to it.
