Patriots

Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots definitely are looking at quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL draft and Trey Lance has to be high on the list. In his last full season, he didn’t have an interception and completed 66.9 percent on his passes.

On top of all that, he’s got a really strong arm and is a very good athlete. The Patriots, with Belichick and Josh McDaniels, could find a lot of ways to use Lance, and playing behind Cam Newton, he wouldn’t have to play right away, although probably would next season due to injury if the past is any indication.

Lance would also be going to a team that’s more ready to contend for a Super Bowl than a lot of the teams in the top 10. Belichick isn’t afraid to make bold moves but moving up to acquire Lance, even if he falls out of the top five, is going to be costly.

We’ll see if it happens. Waiting for Mac Jones might make more sense, but Lance is a unique talent and it would be fun to see what the Patriots could do with him.
