1. Any signs of defensive improvement

There’s no question about it, Chris Partridge and DJ Durkin have a lot of work to do. Ole Miss had one of the worst defenses in the country last season and that wasn’t a huge surprise given how mediocre they were under Matt Luke, but it was still a bad look.

Ole Miss’ offense masked a lot of deficiencies on defense, but if the Rebels had any pulse on that side of the ball, they would have been way ahead of schedule and maybe even contended in 2020.

The defense wasn’t just bad, it was a nightmare. The Rebels gave up 519 yards and over 38 points per game last season and that forced the offense into shootout after shootout. Ole Miss could keep up offensively, but the defense folded late in games and could never get the stops it needed.

Lane Kiffin has to hold his coaches accountable and if there’s no improvement on that side of the ball in 2021, there need to be some changes.

Will there be any signs of improvement on the defensive side of the ball this spring?
