Quarterbacks should rule the early portions of the 2021 NFL draft and here are five perfect landing spots for Zach Wilson, Justin Fields and more.

You don’t have to be a genius or even know much about football to know that quarterbacks are the key to any draft and they will be the key once again in the 2021 NFL draft.

The first pick is going to be a quarterback and this year, there will be no drama about who that’s going to be. Everyone knows that Urban Meyer wants to take Trevor Lawrence. As I wrote last week, it’s probably one of the biggest reasons why he took the job.

Meyer knows that you need talent to win, especially at the quarterback position and as much as scouts love Zach Wilson and Justin Fields, everyone seems pretty much agreed that Lawrence is the can’t-miss prospect in the 2021 NFL draft — at least among the quarterbacks.

That being said, Lawrence is going into a good situation in Jacksonville. Meyer has never been an NFL head coach before, but he at least has a plan and he’s the guy running the show. Lawrence knows what he’s walking into, which is better than you can say for whoever ends up in New York with the Jets.

You need all the leadership to be on the same page and the New York Jets just have not been a stable franchise. The Jaguars haven’t either but if Meyer can carry over his success from the college game, it should work out well for Lawrence, who at least has a coach open to more spread elements of college offenses.

That should help Lawrence adapt quickly to the next level and it’s why the Jags are a good fit, even though there aren’t any other realistic options.

After Lawrence, things will get interesting and we’ll breakdown the best fit/situation for each of the other quarterbacks expected to go in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft.
