Justin Fields, Falcons

Justin Fields is another high-level quarterback available in the 2021 NFL draft and one that isn’t likely to last beyond the first five picks.

A ton of recent mock drafts have Fields going to the Atlanta Falcons with the fourth pick in the draft and it’s a move that makes a lot of sense.

Atlanta still has Matt Ryan, who has some good football left in him, but the end is near. Atlanta needs a reboot and with a new head coach, it’s time to get him a new quarterback.

Fields doesn’t get credit for having as good an arm like some of the quarterbacks in the draft, but he completed nearly 70 percent of his throws at Ohio State. He also threw 63 touchdowns passes compared to just nine interceptions.

His accuracy could use some work and throwing to open guys at Ohio State is different than the NFL, however, his dual-threat ability would add something else the Falcons offense hasn’t seen since the days of Michael Vick.

Fields also wouldn’t have to play right away, which can be a luxury for a young quarterback and being able to learn from Ryan, at least for the first year could be very beneficial.
